The rising action is where tension or pressure between the characters and the plot tightens.

Complication or climax is the peak of the story. It is the part where the plot explodes, and the character should overcome this. This chapter or scene has the highest probability stirs the emotions of the readers and audiences. Some people refer to the climax as the crisis of the narrative.

In the falling action part, the protagonist of the story starts to experience downfall, which makes the audience and readers feel an emotional purgation (catharsis). Catastrophe is the part where the characters receive the effect of their choices to resolve the climax. It is also known as denouement.
