What is the History of Veterans Day?

The Great War (World War I) ended on the 28th of June 1919 when the Treaty of Versailles was signed in the Palace of Versailles, France. However, the war concluded around seven months earlier, on November 11th when the truce between the Allied nations and Germany went into effect on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. Based on that fact, November 11 in 1918 is known as the end of the war. Hence, Veterans Day always falls on November 11.
